Eat Shoots and Leaves Best Sustainable Garden Special Mention.
Eat Shoots and Leaves this year received a special mention for Best Sustainable Garden in the “Let It Grow” Douglas Shire Garden competition. But this is not the only great news! The real celebrity gardener Costa Georgiadis and his beard awarded Eat Shoots and Leaves during the award event night at the Port Douglas town hall.
And this is not all! His visit to our Port Douglas microgreens operation in the beautiful Mowbray Valley was the highlight. On the day of Costa's judging blitz, the sunflower sprouts leaves were thick, green, and blissful as always. The purple and pink radishes were as colorful as ever. The peas shoots tendrils were looking deliciously ready, as well as the new variety of mug beans sprouts that Port Douglas chefs love at the moment!
It was particularly exciting to welcome Costa to our unique garden and experience his energy, ideas, and passion for the outdoors, gardens, and the connection with the community.
This reward celebrates the great effort that Eat Shoots and Leaves put into growing an ethical and sustainably crop with dedication, passion, knowledge, and regard for the environment.
Currently, Eat Shoots and Leaves focus is on the development of an innovative custom made, brand new facility that will improve its operations here in the Tropical Far North Queensland. The aim is to deliver an extra magnificent bounty of goodness to the Douglas Shire all year round.
